Exercise??

Does shivering count as exercise? Well, it should. I think that's the only exercise I've gotten over the past couple of days. You can find out more about why I'm so cold on my other blog.
Seriously though; I've done well with my food, but the exercise thing is still a challenge. It doesn't help that all of my hobbies are the kind that require you to sit: quilting, sewing, piano, etc. I don't have the option to go outdoors, or go to a gym, or even a mall or some place to walk around. When I do make the time, I do "Walk Away the Pounds" with Leslie Sansone. Sometimes you just want a change of pace though. Any ideas????

Now Pam do you really want me of all people to give you some ideas, j/k. I know you have a dvd player but do you have some hand weights? Try going up your stairs holding hand weights on your hips or shoulders and then walk down them backwards. Also try to go up them faster and run back down , that can get your heart rate up. Try to take 2 steps at a time going up like a climbing lunge all of these holding hand weights. The basics of jumping jacks, crunches, lunges, squats, pushups. If I think of more I will let you know. And there is always Tae bo, hehehe.

Well...other than finding some other videos to work out to.
I bought the 1, 2 and 3 mile walks with Leslie Sansone at a thrift shop for a few bucks, maybe I'll try one today.
I'll be thinking of ideas.

I really like the Sansone videos. I can't really walk outside but I can do this. It helps me a lot. I wish I like to walk more but I have to make myself do that also. I used to love to walk out side and just look at all the things that God has made but when you can't you can't so I don't think about it too much. Have a great weekend. connie from Texas

I'm sure shivering causes you to burn calories!! Well...it sounds good anyway!! LOL!! Our weight-loss group at church has adopted the concept that laughing causes us to burn calories. So we try to laugh alot. And then we clap too since we heard that burns them too. LOL!! We'll accept anything people say about burning calories.

I love my WATP dvds!! I am planning on getting back to that today in fact. I didn't get to do them all last week for all that has been going on.

Love you and praying for you!!

Hmmm, inside exercise. Jumproping is great for your cardio and terrific for your gaining bone density.

Prevention.com usually has a lot of interesting exercises to choose from and they've always worked fairly well for me (when I actually DO them, LOL).

Hello Sister Pam,
I found your other blog through Courtneys Contemplations and have enjoyed reading it.

It was really intereting to read about your change of eating habits and etc... I admire your determination! :-)May the Lord continue to bless you as you seek to glorify Him in all.

I am blessed to live in a country where I am able to go out and walk and enjoy the fresh air almost all year-round!(Althoug I don't do it as much as I should!)Your post was really poignant to me in that area - I guess so many times I take it for granted that I CAN, that most times I DON'T.
Well anyway, I remembered something a friend shared with me when I read your post.
She used this exercise program after she had her first baby. I think it is some sort of video tapes which plays classical music and you do moves to it - "Full Circle Aeorbics" or something like that. I believe the author of it is called Linda Haught and you can find more info from www.christianbook.com (Disclaimer:I am not sure exactly what there are like as I have not seen them. They are supposed to be more conservative and modest than the many other exercise programs available out there which feature inadequately dressed women.) This may not be what you had in mind, as I think it may be more for body toning and firming than weight loss or fat burning, but I just thought I'd share. (Sometimes things like that are nessecary AFTER one loses many pounds.)

Well, wether this is of much help or not, I wish you good progress...!
May God Bless you... or should I say "Shalom"?!:-)
In Christ,
